Privacy Policy
The short version
I do not sell your personal information. I run this site as one person. The data that gets collected comes almost entirely from third-party services I use to run it: Google for advertising and analytics, and a handful of WordPress plugins for security, spam filtering and backups.
The two places you actively give me information are the contact form and the comment box. Everything else is automatic.
Who I am
Griff To Go is a personal travel blog written by Alex Griffin, based in Kansas City, Missouri, United States. For anything in this policy, contact me at the contact page.
Information you give me directly
Contact form
When you use the contact form I receive the name, email address and message you enter. I use these only to reply to you. Submissions arrive as email.
Comments
Comments are open on guides. When you leave one, WordPress records the name and email address you enter, your IP address and your browser user-agent string. Comments are checked for spam by Akismet, a service operated by Automattic, which means that data is sent to Automattic for that purpose. Approved comments and the name attached to them are visible publicly.

Advertising
This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads and to measure how they perform. Depending on your settings and location, some of that advertising may be personalised based on your browsing.
You can review and change what Google uses for advertising at My Ad Center, and you can opt out of personalised advertising from participating vendors at aboutads.info.
Cookies
Cookies are set by the services listed above rather than by me directly. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking them will not stop you reading anything here, though it may affect how the site performs.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. If you have commented or contacted me and want that removed, ask and I will remove it.
For data held by Google or Automattic rather than by me, those requests generally need to go to them, and I will point you in the right direction if you are not sure.
Children
This site is not directed at children and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
When this policy changes, the Last updated date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the page.
