Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure
The short version
This site carries advertising, served by Google. Nobody pays me to recommend a place, and no business has ever been given a better write-up for money. The costs in the guides are what I actually paid or actually researched.
Advertising
Griff To Go displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google chooses which ads appear based on its own systems, and I do not select the advertisers or approve individual ads. Occasionally that means an ad appears next to a guide that has nothing to do with it, or that I would not personally endorse.
Advertising revenue is what keeps the guides free to read. How Google uses cookies to serve those ads, and how to change what it shows you, is covered in the Privacy Policy.
Affiliate links
Some links in the guides may be affiliate links, meaning that if you book or buy through them I could earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Where that applies, it does not change what gets recommended. A place is in a guide because I went there and thought it was worth your time, and recommendations are not moved up or down based on whether a link pays.
What does not happen here
- No business has paid for a review, a mention, or a better position in a guide.
- No guide has been written for somewhere I have not been.
- Prices are not inflated or discounted to suit anyone. They are what I paid, or what current research showed, with the date shown on the page.
- If a place was bad value, the guide says so.
If that ever changes
If I ever accept a paid partnership, a hosted stay or a press trip, it will be labelled clearly at the top of the page it affects, in plain language, and this page will be updated to say so. That has not happened to date.
Questions
If you want to know whether a particular link or recommendation earns me anything, just ask and I will tell you straight.
